Your mission
At Martino, we are very proud to say that our products are made with care so that they are unique, durable and of superior quality. To maximize the longevity of your purchase, it is now up to you to take care of it and use the proper care techniques for each type of leather. How often you care for your product will depend on how you use it and the conditions it will be subjected to.
Built to last
Martino products are designed to last for many years. Regular maintenance will ensure that you can maximize their longevity and renew their waterproofing.
Martino products are designed to last for many years. By doing regular maintenance, you will be able to maximize their longevity and renew their waterproofness. //split// How often you need to maintain your product will depend on how you use it and the conditions to which it is subjected. Before leaving our factory, all our products are treated to increase their waterproofing property and resistance to abrasives. This step simplifies and space the maintenance for you. With wear, certain elements, such as calcium, can affect the performance of this protection. Using the right product will allow your shoes to regain their properties and maintain their good appearance. We offer a range of affordable maintenance care so you can wear your favorite pair over and over again.
Cleaning
This step is essential to the longevity of your product. Cleaning it with a damp cloth or leather cleaner will remove surface dirt and stains. This step can be done as often as necessary throughout the season of use. It is important to always clean your product before storing it at the end of the season. It is important to always allow the leather to air dry completely before applying a second cleaning product.
Decalcification
This step is also crucial to the durability of your product, specifically to avoid permanent damage. As soon as white circles or salt stains appear, rub gently with a damp cloth until the dirt is removed. For deeper dark circles, we recommend using a mixture of water and vinegar. It is important to always allow the leather to air dry completely before applying another cleaning product.
Protection
The application of a cleaner or decalcifier can alter the protective layer of the leather. It is therefore important to apply the right protection for each type of leather after cleaning and before storing the shoes at the end of the season.
Leather protector spray is mainly used on suede and "velvety" leathers like our Oily leather. You can also use it on your moccasins.
Grease, used on full grain leather like Grizzly, prevents aging and creates a barrier against abrasives.
Hydration
Like the skin, leather needs to be moisturized to prevent it from drying out. Moisturizing cream does not have waterproofing properties but nourishes the leather while restoring its shine. In addition to moisturizing and restoring shine to your product, it can correct minor imperfections.
Warranty
Martino offers a warranty up to 12 months from the date of purchase of its products. Wear and tear may vary from one model to another and is directly related to the use made by the person wearing them.
The longevity of our products is at the heart of our concerns. If, by misfortune, a breakage should occur within an abnormal period of time despite proper use, we will gladly repair or exchange the product when a repair is not possible. For the sake of the environment, we prioritize repair when possible.
The Martino warranty does not cover water infiltration through laces, zippers or elastics. The warranty does not apply if the product has been subject to excessive use, neglect, accident, misuse, or exposure to chemicals or extreme heat.
Our products are handcrafted from the highest quality natural materials. Therefore, any imperfections or scratches in the leathers are considered normal, not a defect and not covered by the warranty. Leather will always have natural marks such as dents, scars, scratches or wrinkles. Colors may also differ slightly from one hide to another. These natural irregularities are completely normal and should not be considered a defect, but rather an indication of genuine leather. You may also notice a difference in colour due to your computer monitor. This situation is well beyond our control.
We are an approachable team and have a reputation for customer service. Contact us and we will be happy to help you at 418-842-1943 or at info@boutiquemartino.com.
